In Search Custom Profile Field mod you must add the code for each cpf search field manually. In this mod here the cpf search fields are auto-generated, no matter what kind of fields. Hope this explains.

& just to add to that my mod was intended to be a quick & simple fix to address a request that was made many times on this board. 4_seven then developed the concept of the mod to a new level .

I would hope that in a future phpBB development the concept together with adding a custom profile field to the memberlist would become core to phpBB.

Hi... I'm looking for some way to change my member search, so that I can search with my custom fields?
I'm using "Black Pearl" Theme and your mod only works in "prosilver" Theme?

First: thank you for your time and effort to "create" this mod. Second... I shall "install" this mod and have absolutely no clue how to do it. Can anyone help me with this challenge? Is there somewhere a how-to or so?

An interesting one for you...

If a member has selected cpf's in their profile. For example they selected 'gender' as 'male' in a drop down.

Would it be possible to pre-populate the search fields by pulling data from their profile?

When a member fills in their profile like so:


Once they go to the member search below, the drop down menu's would be prefilled with their profile choices.

It is? I must have done something wrong because they always show up blank/unselected like in the picture.

Even in your demo, all the fields are blank and not prefilled/selected with any profile information? But obviously I'm not logged in and have not dded any profile information.

thats bcs. of technical reasons (see the other genuine phpbb3 fields in this area, its the same).

Sorry, what I mean is...

The search fields should have selected items which match those in a users profile.

Instead of drop downs having 'blank' selected, they could have a users profile fields already selected?

Ah, so there is no way to pull a members cpf's from their profile to make the search form ready filled/populated?

Ok, no problem. I thought it may be impossible anyway. Thanks for the help. Just that on my site, people would only search for what they have already put in their profiles. In essence doing away with the need to even have the search form options.
