Language based on user setting?

Post by spamdavy »

Hey there,

I'm trying to find the best board software to install for internal company use. We have both Chinese and English speaking employees. Can you help me understand the following?

1) Is the phpBB interface language based on a user-controlled setting?
2) Can I type in both Chinese and English no matter what the interface language is?
3) Are there other board solutions that support dual languages?

Thank you!

  1. Yes. There is a default setting for the board which will be the interface language that guests see, but members can choose their individual preference from whatever languages are installed.
  2. Yes. The text in posts on the board is unaffected by the language setting which only affects the interface. There is no translation of post text.
  3. No idea, but presumably other boards support more than one language.
