Maybe 1 point every five minutes or something...? Some incentive for playing the games...need to find a happy middle ground between the spammers who will just leave open games to earn points and the actual users who will want to earn points for playing games, but aren't necessarily good enough to set new records.
A middle ground would be points for playing the games - upon the score being submitted.
Would that be difficult to add into the code?
Curious about my work? See it for yourself.

I have no idea... I'm not part of the coding team for this mod.

I hope that does not get added, tbqh. I already block the mochi stuff tracking my users on my forum.
It shouldn't do it. Where did you insert their Bridge script?
LittleTiger wrote:The arcade does a good job of keeping track of scores and such like already, why add an external element that gathers intel on members of forums?
That's true, but if you only want to fully and legally integrate their games and scores, phpBB Arcade should be able to use their Bridge API.
I'd like to try to integrate phpBB Arcade and MochiMedia Bridge, but I need some hints on where to put my dirty hands in phpBB Arcade. Anyone? Killbill?

I agree! No need for this. Just my two cents...

Seems JR Sweets is off the radar (again). I know that KillBill is a part of the team (compared to that other guy who took over the mod last time) but still I hope that there will be a statement from JR soonish so we know if this (unapproved) version won't be withdrawed by JR again. At least that wasn't a big deal last time since he posted all needed instructions.

I assume it was encoded within the games. I do not like that kind of stealth tracking of my members.

The Arcade ALREADY provides a scoring system, a way to keep track of high scores and such like. There is absolutely no need to introduce a third party method that sends users to another site, tracks them or dishes up advertising..... why should I allow my membership rosta to be "stolen" by someone else? That would be like allowing tics to stay attached to my poor little dog to suck his blood....

KillBill is on the team, unlike the last person that tried to take it over ;) he has done a phenomenal job with it and I am sure JR will be very happy once he comes back (if he does).

So it can track your users only when they play one of their games not when they visit other pages of your forum. What's the problem with this?
LittleTiger wrote:The Arcade ALREADY provides a scoring system, a way to keep track of high scores and such like.
That's exactly what I want to use with their games too. In other words, I want to get scores obtained by my users when they play mochi games and store them in phpBB Arcade scoring system.

I agree, there's no need to introduce something like that, but maybe you didn't read well their documentation, because they don't send your registered or guest users to another site, if you don't want to.
They tracks them and dish up advertising, that's true, but those ads are a way to pay the honest work of games developers and website owners. What's wrong with this?

Me too, there are about 12000 to 13000 games for the arcade, and the number of games becomes larger, every day, so i don't see the need of a third part insert in the arcade.

You're talking about free games that we can legally upload to our sites, I suppose. Would you please tell us where we can find them?

NiceM, I already visited your site, but I didn't find there any games developer's document that authorizes to freely distribute them with or without modifications. Am I wrong?
Also, I binary compared some of your downloadable game and they didn't match original ones (downloaded from developer's site), and again I did not find any developer's document that authorizes to modify his/her .swf. Am I wrong?
