Please describe your problem. I'd like to add an iframe BBcode

I have a generated ticker from a trusted site, but the code it gives me to add is iframe based.

<iframe src="http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/getDy ... ecial=true" frameborder="0" name="di" scrolling="no" width="405px" height="145px"></iframe>

I have perused through the support forum and added an iframe bbcode setup like the following.

BBCode usage:
[iframe]{URL}[/iframe]

HTML Replacement:
<iframe src="{URL}" width="100%" height="400" border="0"></iframe>

I found this information on the community support forum;
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 6&t=693225

however, it does not appear to do anything. I'm wondering how to correct this.

You do not want to add an iframe bbcode. If you did, then anyone would be able to iframe any porn page into their posts.

Why are you wanting a bbcode for this? Is there some reason for all of your users to be able to add this identical "ticker" to all of their posts?

I suggest you to declare exactly that page, which you're sure (due safety).
For example:
BBCode usage:

Code: Select all

[iframe]http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/{LOCAL_URL}[/iframe]
HTML replacement:

Code: Select all

<iframe src="http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/{LOCAL_URL}" frameborder="0" name="di" scrolling="no" width="405px" height="145px></iframe>

that won't work that way.

I suggest you try to explain exactly what you want the final outcome to be.
what exactly do you think this will accomplish for your board.

then we can probably tell you how to get what you want even if it is not the way you think it should/could be done.
allowing iframes are really not a good idea to begin with.
there are security concerns as well as layout concerns to think about.

Could you do this... for that bbcode?

bbCode

Code: Select all

[worldgrid]{SIMPLETEXT}[/worldgrid]
HTML Replacement

Code: Select all

<iframe src="http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/getDynamicImage.do?memberName={SIMPLETEXT}&mnOn=true&stat=2&imageNum=1&rankOn=true&projectsOn=false&special=true" frameborder="0" name="di" scrolling="no" width="405px" height="145px"></iframe>
InLine Usage

Code: Select all

[worldgrid]Bubbaduss[/worldgrid]
I'm with these guys. Don't allow anyone to enter a URL from anywhere into your posts.
This bbCode format will allow a user to enter in only their Member Name.
