Varnish works fine with phpBB3?

Post by SuperFedya » Wed Jun 06, 2012 3:59 pm

Hi,

I need to reduce phpBB3 server loading, can I use Varnish for that? There is any problems with sessions or something else?

Any config samples or personal experience?

Thanks

phpbb.com uses varnish.

That said, I suspect you can obtain more noticeable improvements elsewhere.

Maybe you know when I can find a sample config?

Thanks

Varnish has extensive documentation and examples. I had no trouble writing a useful config file for another application.

Again I would recommend against using Varnish if you cannot write (and understand) your own configuration. Presumably you have specific issues that you are trying to address with Varnish, in which case you should use a configuration specific to your needs.
