Is this MOD abandon?
My board shows the people have referrals but when you try to view who you referred it doesn't show anything.

UPDATE i think i found the anwer to my first question as to where to find the latest version and i believe this is the link:
http://www.siropu.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3

Other questions:
How close is this to being fully released into the mod directory?

Can we delete the install file after install?

I assume when you do the registration field you will allow them to choose a member name from a drop down list so that member gets immediate credit?

Until you do the registration field i have created a custom profile field as a temp solution, how do i add the totalls to the database manually, which table and with field can i manually add totalls to? For example: john smith gets a referral and i need to add +1 to his existing referrals, where can i do that?

thanks

This MOD will be rewritten and improved for phpbb 3.1.
I won't be adding any new features nor I will provide support for the current version of the MOD.

I think I will add the option to upgrade from this MOD to the new one.

So I installed the mod and everything seemed to install correctly. However, when I copy the referral link (from the UCP) into a new browser, I get a 404-type (my site's 404 is weird) page. Any ideas why? Could it be my .htaccess file?

Since my first post, I've completely removed my htaccess file. With that gone, the referral link just redirects to my forum index.

Oh, I didn't realize that was how it was supposed to work. Thanks. I'll test it now.

[Edit: It works! Thank-you for such an awesome mod.]

Hello,
A member registered having somehow not gone through a referrer's link - how do you go about manually adding this for them? Even if it's via the database, I'd like to be able to manually add them in an event like this.

Thanks

Hi,

Here, I have made a small script to help you with that. I haven't tested it so please make a backup first and let me know how it goes.

Upload it where the forum is installed.

Hi again, I get this error message when running that file:

Code: Select all

General Error
SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '"51' at line 3 [1064]

SQL

SELECT username, user_regdate FROM phpbb_users WHERE user_id = "51

BACKTRACE

FILE: (not given by php)
LINE: (not given by php)
CALL: msg_handler()

FILE: [ROOT]/includes/db/dbal.php
LINE: 757
CALL: trigger_error()

FILE: [ROOT]/includes/db/mysqli.php
LINE: 189
CALL: dbal->sql_error()

FILE: [ROOT]/rma.php
LINE: 33
CALL: dbal_mysqli->sql_query()
That's when I place the user ID (the unique number). If I put the usernames in the box then the page just refreshes but nothing happens.

Thanks, but this didn't work either.

It added a referral but not for the correct members.

I put my own user ID (the number "2") in the "referrer ID" box and the new member's ID in the "referral ID" box.

I checked the logs ACP > Mods > Refferral Mod > Referrers > (Click my username "view referrals") and it sayed "Username = Guest" "Referrer = test1" (the referred account). It should be "Username = test1" "Referrer = my username".

Sorry I've really struggled to explain this somehow >.<

Also:

Is it possible to make the referrals count clickable (on profile and viewtopic) so members can see who referred who? Also, is it possible to have "referred by" on the members profile?

Thanks
