I'm no expert, I would do all the tests in local
i use xampp
i make a new database from phpmyadmin, I imported all the files through the backup file .sql and I copied all the files of mybb forum in a xampp folder (D:\xampp\htdocs\forum)

what i have to do for the conversion ?

once you have everything ready;

what version of mybb are you running? read this whole topic to find out which convertor you should use and where to get it.

then follow those steps in the link above. do them exactly and in order.
