Private message notification question

Post by thalador » Tue Sep 21, 2004 8:23 pm

I am using the stock code of

Code: Select all

You have received a new private message to your account on "{SITENAME}" from {FROM} and you have requested that you be notified on t
his event. You can view your new message by clicking on the following link:
and what I want it to do is add in the subject of that PM in the email. I have tried adding the {TOPIC_TITLE} variable and that doesnt work. Anyone know if there is a variable for this and what it is?

Thanks!

should be easy enough with a bit of MODing
open privmsg.php
find

Code: Select all

'U_INBOX' =>
before, add

Code: Select all

					'PM_SUBJECT' => $privmsg_subject,
hopefully this variable will already be populated

open language/lang_english/email/privmsg_notify.tpl
incorporate {PM_SUBJECT} however you wish :)

Notice how it just puts a space where the PM_SUBJECT should be. Any ideas?

Uhh...it looks like you're using Nuke which is radically changed from phpBB.
I don't think the code will work. :(

I'd been looking for that. I asked the same question on Monday.

Mav's answer works very well.

Sorry, TMB says that it works ok for a normal phpbb setup ...i've got no experience with *nuke so i don't know what they've changed to incorporate phpbb.
Support requests for nuke ports of phpbb should be directed at the appropriate nuke support forum.
