Forum data problem

Post by Theo101 »

I updated my forum and the data on it is gone...I made a full backup but the style on it wasn't the default one and it's 3.02 so how do I change the style for the backup so I can restore it with that style or any other ideas???

What exactly did you do?
Are you sure you haven't just done a new installation instead of an update. The update will not ask you for a database name, admin login etc.

What's the address of the board?

Styles cannot be carried over to 3.1

Yes it looks like you've just done a new installation so your old one will still be there. You just need to edit the config.php file to match that of the 3.0 database, open the board’s /cache folder on the server and delete everything except index.htm and .htaccess and then upload /install and rerun the install/database_update.php file to upgrade to 3.1x

Upload the files from 3.1.3 but you've already got those.

you have to delete all the files on your old board except the images directory, store directory, files directory and the config.php file. Upload all the new phpbb 3.1 files except the images directory, store directory, files directory and the config.php file. After that, do the database update.

As Kevin explained, when you did your new install you already uploaded new files, so you should be all set.
