'Extensions' tab is dead & reporting an error

Post by portafold_matthew » Fri Jan 27, 2017 11:12 pm

Support Request Template
What version of phpBB are you using? phpBB 3.2.0
What is your board's URL? www.portafold.co.uk/forum
Who do you host your board with? www.compila.com
How did you install your board? I used the download package from phpBB.com
What is the most recent action performed on your board? Update from a previous version of phpBB3.
Is registration required to reproduce this issue? It's in the ACP.
Do you have any MODs installed? No
Do you have any extensions installed? No
What version of phpBB3 did you update from? phpBB 3.0.10
What styles do you currently have installed? None.
What language(s) is your board currently using? English
Which database type/version are you using? MySQL 5
What is your level of experience? Comfortable with PHP and phpBB
What actions did you take (updating your board; installing a MOD, style or extension; etc.) prior to this problem becoming noticeable? I've just tonight upgraded to v3.2.0, but it was like it before from a previous upgrade.
Please describe your problem. As a hangover from a previous upgrade, the 'Extensions' tab in the ACP is now dead, and reports an error. Any idea how to remove it so I can tidy up my ACP?

The ToolKit that gets mentioned a lot on the forum removes old mods, but doesn't work on any new versions of phpBB. Is there another cleanup program?

Brilliant, I didn't realise you could manually remove menus.

And it's solved another issue I had as I've just removed two more menus that were also defunct.

Many thanks.

This tool it's for 3.2.0, isn't a DB cleaner but try it and see if any other 3.0's related modules or permissions are there to be removed with it.

Disable all of the extensions before to run it.

OK, now I've removed it, how do I put it back?

Re-installing v3.2.0 doesn't bring it back, so if I manually add it through the Module Management what settings do I need to enter? (to get it back to original settings)

bring back what? that board announcement module? you don't need it.

if you want a board announcement extension then check the extensions section here and download and install one. then, the extension tab will show up in the admin panel again.

I've installed and enabled six extensions and the Extensions tab is still not there.

Does the Extensions tab in the ACP get installed with every extension? Is there a specific extension I can install to test if it will install the Extensions tab?

I've manually added it in System, Module Management, Administration Control Panel.

It shows there in the list (enabled), but it's not showing itself at the top of the page as a tab.

Are you sure it doesn't say enable rather than enableD?

If it's running it should say Disable next to it. i.e. if you want to turn it off, click here.
