Converting from other board software? Good decision! Need help? Have a question about a convertor? Wish to offer a convertor package? Post here.

Prune Large amounts of spam users ?

Post by mrix2000 »

Hello all, I have a good few thousand spam accounts with zero post counts, if I try to prune them all it simply fails.
Is there a way of pruning much larger amounts of these spam account members ???

Thanks all

Hi Kev, there does not seem to be an answer for my question, these spam users have built up over several years and not recent etc.
I have decided to upgrade a very old phpbb2 forum going through stages which was a success but when I was not aware of spam users I used to accept them on a daily basis for years, these are also members who never posted which I would like to remove.
Basically any member with a zero post count of which I have thousands
Is there any easy way to remove zero post accounts in very large numbers ?
Thanks

There isn't a quicker way. You'll have to slog through a few every now and then. You can clean up lots of posts quite easily by moving pages at a time to a dump forum and then deleting that. Removing the subsequent account would then be a little easier as you don't have to delete the posts at the same time but it's pretty much the only way to do it.
