Migrating to new hosting company, edited config.php, still can't log in

Post by Fogbow_Foggy »

SQL ERROR [ mysqli ]

Access denied for user 'wlbjr_wlbryanjr'@'localhost' (using password: YES) [1045]
But I edited config.php - the new username is wlbryann_wlbjr

The old username isn't in the database - I searched.

At the new hosting company, I created a new database, then imported a backup of the database - that was successful. Table prefixes stayed the same.

I don't ask for help much, but this one is puzzling me.

Thanks in advance.
In my defense, I was left unsupervised.

Take a look:

Edit* It seems that the credentials you're using are wrong. Did you double check that the password is correct?

Thanks, I'll look that over tomorrow, AFK tonight. Yes, I am using the right password. The error message says it's the wrong username.

If I still have problems tomorrow, I'll ask for more help.

Thanks again!!

using your ftp, delete everything from the cache folder except for the index.htm and the htaccess files.

Not really, it could either the username, password or both.

Actually, it was a cache problem. I read the stuff you showed me, used FileZilla to clear my cache files, and managed to log in instantly.

Then I came back here and Lumpy had already told me that. Oh, well. Thanks, Lumpy!

So the good news is, I did everything else right. And the other good news is, I learned something new.

You can close this one up, and Thanks again!
