My forum at www.sadmuppets.org/forum/ is reacting slowly, particular when creating new posts, editing or replying to posts.

Any suggestions as to how to make it run faster?

I tried updating to 3.2 a few weeks back, but wasted an afternoon getting nowhere and had to roll everything back.

Your php version, not your phpbb version.

Sorry, I'm running 5.5.26, the problem has existed under older versions too.

Try to upgrade to 3.2 (support for 3.1 stops next week) and choose php 7.+

I tried, got nowhere
I will try again this week
