There is IP-banning at
- phpBB level (very easy)
- .htaccess (easy but I don't know the syntax by heart) - in your case probably the best solution.
- server level (that depends on what your host allows you to do - is it shared hosting or fullserver renting - the first I would suspect, in which case you won't have access) (requires server software knowledge)
Then I'll need to block the 220. IP Series?

do nothing and don't worry about it.
The problem here is that this particular attack is quite aggessive and actually slows down, almost stops, your server.

I need the best solution. which do you suggest for me among the 2?
.htaccess deny from 220.243.0.0/16

Better still is if your board/account has its own firewall.

Will this also block China Users from accessing my forum, as its an international forum or only those spam bots?

It will block anyone using that range of IP address, irrespective of where they are from.

Well that's total BS that my post was deleted!!!!!!

I try and help people with an issue with a real-world solution and I'm censored yet again. There's no reason for that once so ever! I posted the Github link to the script, the help Gitter link for help and stated one needs to read the documentation. Yet many extensions here are hosted by Github.

I'm so sick and tired of the overzealous moderation here. And I can't stand censorship!

You're not gonna stop China with phpBB by default. No way in hell! Good luck. They have well over 500 ASNs.
