Interesting, but

Post by TwoBob » Thu Dec 23, 2004 2:30 am

Is there a viewable demo that we can look at?

What costs are associated with this product?

Do all uers have to download it, or is it all basically kept within the forum?

Not 100% familiar with Skype VoIP, so would be grateful if you could describe this better in greater detail.

It looks interesting - so I might install, but would like to know more about it first.
Just my 2 cents / pence worth . . . Cheers, TwoBob

To know more about Skype, please go to their website: http://www.skype.com/

Basically using Skype to called another Skype user is free. It only costs if you use Skype to call a landline phone where you have to buy credits.
Skype is free Internet telephony
that just works.
Skype is for calling other people on their computers or phones. Download Skype and start calling for free all over the world.

Call ordinary phones from
Skype with SkypeOut.
Top up on SkypeOut credit and use the Skype programme to call ordinary phones all over the world. Not free, but pretty cheap.

The demo is not available, however it's just like a msn/icq/yim button that's pre-installed in phpBB. If a member choose to disclose his/her skype account, the button will show up besides all those standand buttons. When other users click on it, the Skype (installed on their PC) will dial to that account.

There seems to be a problem having Skype button after the ICQ button when you have ICQ number provided in the profile. I will fix this by adding {postrow.SKYPE_IMG} before ICQ images.

If you don't know how to do it, I will get an update asap.

Well, you should read tutorials in KB, and support forum. This isn't the correct place for phpBB support
