Migration from Jitbit

Post by Toodle-oo! »

Hello - this is all rather new to me...

I have recently taken on the Forum Administrator position for the OCC (Ocean Cruising Club). I don't know much at all about the set-up of a BB (I used to host one - back in 1987, and I think things have changed since then!!) - I'm just responsible for forum content now.

The forum runs on Jitbit - which I'm finding really difficult. I tried your demo today and it looks to be much superior - but before I get too carried away, I'd like to understand how easy or difficult it would be to migrate the existing forum over to phpBB?

The forum has 2500 (mostly inactive) members, 1200+ threads, nearly 4,000 posts.

Would appreciate a general outline of how easy/difficult it would be - and any proven methodology that might assist.

Many thanks,

Bill

never heard of jitbit so it is unlikely there is a phpbb convertor.

you may have to hire somebody to write one up for you.

Another option is to see if there is a convertor for Jitbit that then has a convertor to phpBB i.e. Jitbit -> another board software -> phpBB
