Thanks. Yes, it is an April Fools prank, but as I already have an April Fools (bugs in the machine) extension I tweaked this name as the Board will look like its falling.

So, will this stay active post-4/1 if left enabled? (4/2, 4/3, etc)

If so, is there not a way to write it so it can be left enabled to activate every 4/1 annually?

There probably is, but not that I have found as yet. I will try and investigate further before April 1st

The codes a bit fugly, but this will turn it on for one day (or whatever) Replace the existing overall_header_stylesheets_after.html with the attached.

You can change the operating days by opening the attached and edit lines 3 and 4 in yyyy-mm-dd format.

Thanks for this. I'm installing it.:)

However, I was wondering if there were a way of setting a value of month/day alone so it would reactivate on an annual basis too. Year specific is great, though. It gives some peace of mind of setting it and (almost) forgetting it. I'd love to do the same with your other April Fools and Fred The Bat extensions.

I will have a look at making it independent of the year, but I would not recommend leaving it active all year. There may be a conflict with other extensions, also you would not want the index page to 'jump' every time the browser case is purged throughout the year.

I will look at doing something similar to 'Bugs' and 'Fred' later

If there is an enable config setting, you can make a condition to auto disable or enable it based on time.

And can you make this extension a working user for a while? well, that is not all day and such as little page refreshes and then everything was fine or that it periodically appeared and then became normal?

No, but I am considering adding a start/stop setting in the ACP

So that the effect appears at random? I will have a look and see how easy it will be to add it.

No promises though

1.0.0-RC2 Now Available

I have added a 'stop' date allowing unattended functionality.

Update from previous version:
  • Download the latest release and unzip it.
  • Disable April Falls in the ACP
  • Delete aprilfalls folder from the server
  • Upload the folder hifikabin to root/ext/
  • Enable it in the ACP
Locked
