Having a question about translating phpBB 3.2? Want to discuss and collaborate with people currently translating phpBB 3.2? Here would be the correct place to do so.

Norwegian and Danish translation

Post by Holger »

Hello,

for Norwegian and Danish there are "old" versions available.
Norwegian for 3.1.3
Danish for 3.2.2

Are there new strings to translate?

How can I find out?

We depend on translators for this, these changes are therefore usually posted in our private Translators forum. If you'd like to help out with translating languages you know but aren't actively maintained anymore, you can get in touch with Crizzo, our Translations Manager. Any efforts to contribute to whatever area in phpBB would be greatly appreciated. :)

Having said that, which strings change per version is certainly no secret, here are the changes from 3.2.2 to 3.2.5:

Thanks Jim!
Sorry, but I am only fluent in Swedish and German, and those languages are well maintained.
But I wanted to add Norwegian and Danish to our Scandinavian community.

Will check the changes. Thanks a lot!

I have now roughly updated the Danish version from 3.2.2 to 3.2.5.

How can I get the same change-instructions for 3.1.3 to 3.2.5?
I am not that good at "gitting" :?

Download en language packs for both versions and compare them with a comparison tool like winmerge. This can give you a overview which language variables have been changed (added, deleted or modified).
For changes within a phpBB main Version (eg. 3.2) you can use the area 51 tools: Code Changes (at the bottom right)

Take a look at this:
https://gist.github.com/Crizz0/ea29b574 ... 387df44c56 or canonknipsers link, which fits your needs better :)

Don't forget ext/phpbb/viglink/language/en/, too.
