According to my observation on the average user and what we mean by the members of the forum a large proportion of them interested in the aesthetic form of the forum and design and ease of writing topics and we mean the presence of WYSIWYG editor in addition to the area of the member file more interactive and interactive with other membersdavid63 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 10:58 amDefine user.
Are you referring to the end user? If so then, in my experience, 99% are not the least bit interested in all the "bells and whistles", they are content with what is there just as long as you are not continually changing things.
If, on the other hand you are referring to the "user" as the board owner/Admin then that is another matter. Most of the time they think they know what their end user wants without asking them only to find that most of the features that are added are not used.
I am 13 years old in the forums worlddavid63 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 1:12 pmIn the 20 years or so that I have been running bulletin boards I have never been asked for a WYSIWYG editor by any member of the board. Would I get some wanting one if I asked? Possibly. Do I think that the members would want one? Maybe and if one was available as an option then I would offer it.
As I said before - the site owner's perception of what is required and what actually is required can often be poles apart.
