The "Bad gateway" message is nothing to do with phpBB - it is a server problem that you will need to speak to yours hosts about.

Task 2 SOLVED
It looked like the problem could be to do with pages that send out E-mails, and I think it has been caused by the recent phpBB update. I went into the phpBB E-mail settings in the admin area and changed the method it uses to send E-mail which I hope will solve the problem.

For number 1, I suspect your added style does not match the version the server has been updated to. An easy way to check that is to switch back to the default prosilver style and see if it works in there.

Do you mean the automated function in your cPanel, or something else? The cPanel system can (and does) cause problems as the files they use have been changed from those downloadable from here and we have no way of knowing what the changes are.

^ if your forum was installed using a single click installer then
it might have been set with automatic update. it is better to
turn off such automatic updates

Is "Task 1" already solved at this point? Because when I look at the link you provided, I see a post which has a picture and then a link underneath of it, and that link works fine for me. If that still represents a problem, or your results are different than that, maybe describe further what the actual behavior you're seeing is, and/or the behavior it had before that you now see is different.

The recommendation here on phpBB.com/community is always going to be one of caution against using an installer or updater other than the manual and official process provided by phpBB.com itself. The folks supporting phpBB here are also volunteers, and many view your hosting service's install or update as "we're not sure what might have been in those files", and don't want to spend our time figuring out and issue that was actually created by your hosting service instead of by phpBB.

But that doesn't mean the installation and update service your hosting service provides is actually creating any issues, nor that it ever has created any issues in the past. Continuing to use your hosting service's update process may very well be the approach that will best serve you in the long run, as your hosting service actively strives to make phpBB usage easy for you and their other customers.

You will get other opinions about this. 😉

Okay, now I see it. The https://www.rescueremediesdogrescue.co. ... f=3&t=7769 page shows that issue, whereas neither the previous https://www.rescueremediesdogrescue.co. ... 177&t=7766 post nor the https://www.rescueremediesdogrescue.co. ... f=3&t=7610 post it links to shows the same problem. i.e. The newer post created after the update contains the linking issue.

There are indeed at least two causes of that which have been reported by other users in the suppport forums. Hopefully you hear back soon from someone willing to hire on to fix it for you. (Presuming you haven't already heard from someone.)

How many of those posts are there?
If there are only a few, you could see if you can edit them (without changing anything) and re-submit them. Or even preview them first. This will put the post's text through the text formatter again (the engine that makes BBCodes into their HTML counter part) and mostlikely solve the issue.

I would like to remind everyone that this is a topic in our Wanted! section and that the requester has twice stated that she'd like to pay somebody for their services, so please keep that in mind when replying to that topic.

OP, if you would like assistance with solving this problem yourself, you can open a new topic in our support forums section. :)

Appologies Jim

Outcomb so far is
We have had a couple of offers for paid work and a offer to help on the one problem the url links, the young man contacted via the enquiries he said 'the /vendor directory issue, my expectation is that the issue is now fixed'

We are testing today today and checking/correcting the failed ones

There is still a problem with prosilver as another member mentioned in this topic, this will be addressed as soon as the links are good.

I was offline/away for 3 days and only I could deal with this reply, sorry Jim
Sadly in the dog rescue world only women will do the IT side ;-)

We are grateful for the support in this topic, I will post as soon as I have an update

Alison
