Installing or converting a phpbb 2 styles to work on phpbb3.x

Is there a way to install or convert a phpbb 2 styles so that it works on a phpbb 3 forum? I was tying to get ClanzDarkness2 installed on my new forum, but just noticed it was for phpbb 2.

Put simply - no

I don't know how many code changes were made between phpBB 2.0 and phpBB 3.0 but there have been close on 20k code changes from phpBB 3.0 to the latest version phpBB 3.2.8

I suppose you could convert it if you have plenty of time but it will be far easier to find a phpBB 3.2 style that is as near as possible to what you want and then adapt it using a "child style"

I'm a bit new to this so bare with me. How would I adapt it as a child style? Is there any documentation on this?

I did a search but found nowhere you can still get it. the orignal domain name from the creator is no longer valid.

I don't see anything special about that style ( other than it is ugly ) that would be worth the trouble of trying to duplicate it.

just go here and pick a dark style, add some gaming type images to it and you are done.

That kind of negativity is a bit uncalled for and will put people off bothering to ask a question. The poster wasn't asking you to convert it or if you like it or not and he or she obviously likes it otherwise they wouldn't be asking if it's possible.

I would say the Acidtech style by Eejiwould be the easiest one to adapt into ClanzDarkness2.

I preferred the version two (with the buildings on the side and on top) fitted better with the use of our forum. Although version 3 apparently doesn't fit the license and is for 3.0 so not sure it would work.

Yeah I went to that site before and didn't find one that fitted with what we were going to use it for. The one I have right now is not better as a fit, but it seems to be liked from my few users.

Also, I notice the 3.0 version is based on subsilver2.
