Thank you, phpBB team. I shall take a look at the back-end portion of the code now and familiar myself with it. This looks very promising just from reading the announcement.

Yes, that's exactly why I think MarkDHamill is surprised. I was, too 😉

When updating from 3.2.8, why does it say "Updated Database from version 3.2.9-RC1 to version 3.3.0" in the ACP?

I have never installed any other version above 3.2.8 before.

Where in the ACP does it say that?

Using the "4.i. Full package" instructions, upgrading the db via `php bin/phpbbcli.php --safe-mode db:migrate`.

I'm not asking for support, just asking if this is expected behaviour or not. The Forum seems to work fine.

The database is being updated using migrations. As a result of that, your forum steps through all database changes prior to the latest version. Hence you might end up with your logs stating that you've updated to 3.2.9-RC1 prior to it updating to 3.3.0. ;)

Actually - no. Please see the attached screenshot for the complete log since the last update. Maybe from 3.2.8 to 3.2.9-RC1 there were no migrations? Should I open a ticket?

I only recently upgraded from phpbb v2 to v3 so I'm neither caught up with the system nor the procedure. It looks straight forward enough, but please a couple questions, if I may.

I read above where some extensions might stop working. Should I disable all extensions before updating? I only use a couple registration security extensions. I can disable registrations until they catch up.

If I use the Automatic Update Package will the subsilver style I'm using continue to work? I really need to keep that so should I wait for the style update, if one comes?

Thank you.

subsilver2 was dropped, so it is no longer supported or developed. It does not matter which update methods you use.

There are a few user maintained style available, which look like subsilver2. https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/styl ... subsilver/ But at the moment 9nly for 3.2.7
