Styles don't install

Post by techboyg5 »

When I place a style in the htdocs/phpBB3/styles folder it just doesn't show up in the ACP. I am using XAMPP and phpBB 3.3. Can you please help me?

It's usually because it's not a 3.3 style or you have the folder hierarchy wrong (compare it to prosilver).

Post a screenshot of where you have the folder and what is in it.

If you're using Linux check the permissions of the new syles' directory and files.

An example of such as style (and where you downloaded it from) could help with identifying the cause.
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

What's in that folder?
Is it the 3.3 version?
What shows in the admin panel > customise> install styles

Thanks for your help! The style appears there and I could install and activate it. However even after activating it I don't see it on my forum!

Did you select the style in your UCP? Does the default style override user_style? Don't forget that forums can be assigned a specific style.

Activating it just makes it available to choose.

You need to either select it in the user control panel or if you want everyone to have it, board settings > default style prosilver SE and then select the style override option to force it on everyone.
