Can anyone let me know how I enable the forum section `colapse` feature on forum sections?

Many thanks,

Thats great, thank you for the quick reply.

Do you know if this feature can be enabled for registered members, but not for guests? That would be good... ;)

That doesn't look like a native option, but you can easily achieve that by modifying the extension's template output.

Open: yourforum.com\ext\phpbb\collapsiblecategories\styles\all\template\event\forumlist_body_category_header_row_append.html

Find:

Code: Select all

{% if not S_IS_BOT %}
Replace with:

Code: Select all

{% if not S_IS_BOT and S_REGISTERED_USER %}
Save modified file and purge cache :)

Hard-coding the HTML simply does what you are after (hide that button for guests), but it does not reset the old guests' cookies.
It's like having a glass half full and half empty at the same time.

phpBB's native 'clear cookies' link will clear cookies set by the collapsible categories extension.

It's a two-click reset for any users who have the above issue.

Except that the user has explicitly requested all his/her guests to get the same setting -----> no collapsed.

Therefore is not a guest's decision but forced by the admin which got that issue... not guests, do you reckon?
not for guests
How would we be able to forcefully clean all of the guests' cookies code-wise, so to fill that glass half empty but half full? 🤔

Hi,

All up and running, thank you... ;)

Is there a way to notify the user of new / unread posts in a collapsed section?
e.g.
Before:
Before.PNG
Before.PNG (2.76 KiB) Viewed 239 times
After:
After.PNG
After.PNG (4.63 KiB) Viewed 239 times
Thanks again....

You should ask where you got the extension from. :)
