Currently nothing new is planned for Hangman. Do you have any ideas?

Another possible issue: Some of the players are getting a blank screen when they click on the tab to add a new Term and some don't. Some are not eeven seeing the Tab despite it being available,

I'm more than happy as it is but if it's possible maybe in the future at some point it might be good to have the option to have timed rounds where Terms have to be solved within a time limit.

That is an interesting idea, I'll keep that one in mind.

The vast majority of the players have no problems but the last fuve or six all have scores around -128 to -11. They say they are following instructions but are winning ganes but still getting a minus score. Could it be to do with their browser settings - Pop Up blockers, etc.? I wondered if you or anyone else has heard of any such thing?

TIA

Haven't heard about such an issue so far. And no idea whether the reason for it could be an ad blocker but if they were there would be some research necessary.

Thank you Mike.

Last question: Could you explain how the 'Block players with an insufficient number of term input points' works please?

If I set the number to over the default 40, does the player have to put in more Terms, or less Terms?

The lower the number the more terms have to be created. It's the quotient of game points divided by the points earned by creating terms.

ver 0.10.0 is available as of now, the download link in the starting post has been changed accordingly.
This version contains the following new features or changes:
  • Added an ACP switch to enable/disable the Hangman game for users, founders still can see it
  • Added an ACP switch to enable/disable displaying the highscore tab
  • Added a new permission controlling who can play Hangman, by default all phpBB default user roles have this permission
  • Added a check whether the permitted punctuation marks contain single or double quotes or an underscore, if yes these will be removed before storing them into the database in order to prevent chaos within the game through additional quotes which will irritate PHP's string operations
  • Some code improvements

Hi Mike, how do we change to the new version? Disable the old one or just upload and overwrite the existing files?

Also you mention "Some code improvements". What do they improve please?

For updating to the current version please follow the instructins in the README.md file (its naming has a reason ;) )

Code improvements primarily are changing code to adhere more closely to the coding standards of phpbb.com and update of JS scripts to the current standards like using let instead of var to initialize new variables.

Mike, is it possible to make the terms appear a little more randomly? Some I have don't ever seem to appear yet others are repeated for the same people.

Is there a way I can alter this?
