I have never received such emails in the last 15 years. I would suggest installing the appropriate (paid) protections and moving on. :ugeek:

Maybe I should become an "Oil Baron", and retire.....

"Hello bubbathegimp,

My Name is Miguel. I am a member staff of the Angolan National Petroleum and Gas Agency (ANPG). I am writing to extend a business request to you for a role in a crude oil deal. It's a profitable and genuine business proposal I wish to share with you.

The sad part is that most people are well aware these are scams. If they send such emails to say 100s of people and only a handful actually fall for it, it makes it well worth their time.

Has anyone come across ‘Scamalytics’? I’d never heard of them previously. I did a who is using them earlier and, to be honest, I think it may be a scam in itself in as much as they’re guessing. The only thing that they reported that was anything like true was the fact the IP was using a VPN and that the user could be anywhere in the world, well duh, so is half the universe. They also list Shaw Communications, Rogers Communications, Telstra Internet, Cloudflare, GTS Telecom, Google LLC, Amazon Technologies Inc and Massachusetts Institute of Technologies etc. as high risk (the list goes on)

Edit: Since the above I’ve pretty much answered my own question finding this at WebHostingTalk.

This is a typical report which just looks like fluff to me:
Scamalytics wrote:We consider web traffic from IP address xxx.xxx.99.84 to present a potentially high fraud risk. This IP address is operated by Bla001 whose web traffic we also consider to present a potentially high fraud risk, and is owned by UK Dedicated Servers Limited whose web traffic we consider to present a potentially medium fraud risk. In each of these cases, non-web traffic may present a different risk or no risk at all. Scamalytics see low levels of web traffic from this IP address across our global network, most of which we suspect to be potentially fraudulent. Considering only the web traffic where we have visibility, we apply a risk score of 74/100 to xxx.xxx.99.84, which reflects the proportion of this traffic which we suspect to be potentially fraudulent. If you see web traffic from this IP address there is potentially a high risk that it is criminals engaged in fraudulent activity. Other types of traffic may present a different risk or no risk. The device on xxx.xxx.99.84 is operating an anonymising VPN, which could be proxying traffic from another geographical location. The geographical location of xxx.xxx.99.84 is in the United Kingdom, however the geographical location of the user could be anywhere in the world.
