[ABD] phpBB Quick Reply Full

Post by Steve »

Extension Name: phpBB Quick Reply Full.

Author: Steve

Extension Description: This extension simply adds bbcodes and smilies to quick reply.
Note: I can't find a descent extension for 3.3. X, so I ported some code from my showroom extension into quick reply. Shoot me 🔫

Extension Version: 0.9.0-dev

Features:
  • Shows users who are not able to ignore the flood limit when they can post next.
  • Shows users that they can reply after a countdown.
  • Shows users an alert if they try to submit an empty message.
  • Smilies are put in a dropdown box.
Requirements:
  • phpBB 3.3.0 >=

Yes
Easy, use POST REPLY or the quote button´´ .

You may think this is sarcasm and you're right: quick reply with BBCode and attachment option = almost 100% Post Reply
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

But i would love to get quick reply with attachments (without bbcode). And no, quote and post reply do not display a reply box at the bottom - it is whole another page, right? So it is not a solution at all...

Working wonderfully well for me. Is there any way it can be modified to show the Quick Reply box as standard instead of having to toggle it on each time?

I'm having a couple of comments from users over the extension:
why do we have to click the show quick reply option on threads now? And why, once I've replied, I am timed out for a number of minutes from making any other replies either in that thread or even moving to others?

I can edit an existing post during the period but not add any other replies...
This from a Moderator who should not have any flood limits in place. He (and a few others) have asked if the quick reply feature can be set toggled on as standard?

Are there any configuration options that I've missed?

I will have a look into the flood issue and add a feature to enable/disable the toggle.

Go to permissions tab > group forum permissions > look up global moderators > select a forum > posts tab > can ignore flood limit (yes/no)

Should solve the issue for now.
