I know about this page; but unfortunately they seem not to have tried to update their forums. I can't find any hint about "phpbb_youtube"...
That's why I've asked here.

Just tried updating and stuck at 17% and failed.
3 pages of discussion but no solution?
I will try and reinstall 3.3.7.
Do the custom profile fields need to be deactivated before upgrading?

Actually looking through all 3 pages should yield this post that links to a ticket that has a solution. ;)

Back up and running with 3.3.7 anyway.

Uhmmm, says ...

Type: Bug
Status: Patch Awaiting Review (View Workflow)
Priority: Blocker
Resolution: Unresolved
Affects Version/s: 3.3.8
Fix Version/s: 3.3.9-RC1

Wont be upgrading for a while then but reliable 3.3.7 should keep running.

just updated to v3.3.8 (from v3.3.7) successfully and without any problems.

Thanks to everyone involved.

Could not update initially.
I followed the instructions in the ACP, with following variations, which I did when moving up from 3.3.2 to 3.3.2, plus recently, from 3.3.5 to 3.3.7 (I skipped 3.3.6, fortunately).
1. I deleted the folders specified (/store, /images and /files) plus config.php, FROM THE ZIP, DOWNLOADED file.
2. BUT, I also removed the /ext folder and the /styles folder, because I find it faster to keep those than start uploading all those extensions and styles again. It has worked for me on three previous updates.
3. Did the filezilla transfer.
4. Ran the INSTALL FOLDER. All updates ran clean.

Then, when I reached my website, it gave me a HTTP Error 500.
After some discussion with my host, they recommended to switch back to php 5.4. I said no (and I thought, next thing they will want me to switch back to PASCAL), so re-loaded my backups and left it for tomorrow.

But, when I went to the new uploaded site, and it seems everything is there, it now says I did update to 3.3.8, which I find odd.

I know, this is terribly unprofessional and non-technical (I am not at your level) but just for you to know.
Anyway, I updated, and it is running. Txs for all your efforts, Bertie (and you guys).

If I turn on "debug.sql_explain", I get this error for larger database jobs:

Code: Select all

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 65014168 bytes) in \phpbb\db\driver\driver.php on line 1104
The memory limit is 2048MB

The error occurs when I delete the "phpBB Native Fulltext" indexing and try to create it again.

There are 5,000 topics and 5,000 comments under testing.

If I set the value of "debug.sql_explain" to false, the error does not appear.

PHP (not phpBB) needs more memory allocating, if it’s an issue for you you should post in support.

I increased the limit to 16G, the error is still present.
In my opinion, there will be a different problem here.

Your memory limit is set to 134217728 byte, which is around 134MB, so it isn't set to 2048MB as you said.

Yes, the error message always gives this result regardless of the actual setting.

I tried this on several servers and I always get this error message with these numbers.

But here is a screenshot of the real setup.
