I see little point in spending time re-inventing the wheel when there is nothing inherently wrong with the one I have.

I have to disagree in the first place you would be able to add all the features that you want, how many times have you wanted a extension that simply did not exist or did not do what you want it to do, another thing you could do is design or if possible modify a current browser to do what you want such as work with windows xp that alone would make a lot of people happy as there are still millions of people and business that still use windows xp I still do, another advantage is security since you are creating in then you know what is in it and not have to worry about rather chrome is tracking your every move and things of that nature.

If you don't want the garbage of modern Windows, I would attempt to run something like Windows 10 LTSC on a newer system. It doesn't come with bloat. Honestly, running such an old OS on your daily driver is dangerous.

As for extensions, it's probably easier to write an extension with the features you want for a browser than to make your own, especially when you'd be responsible for all updates... from scratch as well as patching security vulnerabilities when they're discovered.
