Adding users with SQL script

I am trying to create my own converter from WebWizForums to phpBB.

First step is to add the users, which I did, however I have lost the 'Lost password' functionality so I must be doing something wrong (despite the fact that i can login with the users I created).

What is the proper way to add a user?
I am using C# for the console application and MSSQL as the target database.
