I always get a timeout when updating the database.

I come from 3.3.8 version.
Php version 7.1.11.

thank you for the update.

The installation worked without any issues and all my 9 extensions work as well.

I'm using PHP 8.0.26

The end of life date for PHP 7.4 was November 28, 2022, your specific version was EOL in 2019.

I also did 2 site successfully
and not noticed any mistakes
And the language is still perfect for me
If there are mistakes
I upload the NL version of 3.3.9
If that is released

My host doesn't allow php versions higher than 7.1.11.
I cannot update the database?

Requirements: (for phpBB 3.3)
* PHP 7.1.3+ up to and including PHP 8.1 with support for the database you intend to use.

7.1.11 > 7.1.3+ so that should still allow phpBB3.3 to function normally.

Successfully updated using the full pack method.
The extension Topic Title Color causes a blank page when trying to activate it under phpBB version 3.3.9, PHP version 8.1.0

you might want to consider a better host. I don't know how any commercial host could keep in business using versions that out of date.
there are security issues to consider for themselves and their clients.

If the question should be read as: does phpBB3.3.9 function as intended with PHP 8.1 : the answer is YES

If the question is: can my host update the PHP version to 8.1? : the PHP version installed will not be updated but your host could make a new PHP version available: that's something you can ask your host (perhaps it's already available: check the Host Control Panel).

Then the reason because my DB goes in timeout during the update must be elsewhere...

Most likely, but you should create a support topic for that.

Yes, please create a support topic in case you have issues with updating. I have also updated the announcement to inform about potential compatibility issues with some extensions when updating to 3.3.9. If you're unsure, it's best to disable extensions before the update.

Wasn't the YouTube field issue supposed to be fixed?
I still get a blocking error on update
