When I took over the forum, it was on 2.9.1
I (we) changed host and upgraded to 3.3.1 where also TapaTalk came over.
We experienced a lot of trouble with it (amongst other things, that people could register via TT and became Global Moderators as "default").
When we upgraded to 3.3.2, we disabled TT and removed the API.
By 3.3.3 we (I) removed all the remaining TT folders on the (new) host.
Still, at our recent upgrade to 3.3.9, we still see "old" users able to post and PM via TT, though attachments doesnt work (luckily).
Checking the phpMyAdmin, I cannot see any TT reference or tables.
Anyone else having this trouble and know how to completely get rid of the TT ("CrapaTalk") from my forum and database?
TT is dangerous and should not be used by anybody running phpBB.
Extensions have always been very self contained. Once it's been uninstalled, the data deleted and the right /ext folder has been removed that's it. Tapatalk also uses a folder called mobiquo which needs to go.
Are you absolutely sure those accounts are using TT? Rather than being in an old group that has those permissions?

Thank you for your answer.
I'm pretty sure it was 2.9.1 (or maybe 2.1.9). Anyway, it was one of the latest 2.x versions.
The mobiquo folder was removed when installing v3.3.3.
I've received PM's with signature "sent with TapaTalk" recently.

I use it for 10 years and never had problems with it, but you have to use the correct settings (like all other software)
Yes, I know the settings has to be set correct. But the fact that TT set "global moderator" as default user and as standard at installation is not good.
