I have been playing with the search box in the "new posts" results to see if the results can be refined. I found an old discussion here using google that suggested that it should work but I havent had any positive results.
The article suggested using + & - before certain words but that has no effect at all so, can it he done?
Im particularly looking at a language phpbb forum catering for many languages so a "new posts" search can bring up a long list of irrelevant posts

Hi mick, thanks for replying. Here are two screen shots. One showing a straight "new posts' and the other after searching to exclude the second listing "numbers and money"

Right. Could it be a cache thing? I have tried various phpbb forums with mixed results. Sometimes it works and other times not. I just tried it again on the forum in question (forum.duome.eu) and it worked once then wouldnt work the second time. Then I left the site and cleared the "history" and again it did work.
Perhaps I should have tried a few times before posting this but the cache idea sort of makes sense.
