List of forums using phpBB

Post by 4mpb5 »

Is there a website that lists some or most of the actual forums using phpBB ONLY ?

Not an official one but have a look at viewtopic.php?t=546501 and viewtopic.php?t=2159520 etc. There are more via a search. Presumably you mean boards?

Probably not much if any, but "a list" implies "a criterium" : even "random" is a criterium.
I'm curious as to what the OP defines as "a forum using phpBB".

I'm curious as to why you can't work out what the OP means yourself.
Wording on the logo above would give a strong hint.

If you mean "the description" or the alt= of the logo, then yes: but the logo itself (even if the image contains the "word" phpBB) wouldn't.

On a side note: Lumpy's post already points out a criterium that isn't always useful.

Here is a totally useless reply from an AI bot:

However, according to the official phpBB website, there are over 80,000 registered phpBB-based communities as of September 2021. This number is likely to have increased since then.
No real time data?

not sure why it shows 80000 phpbb sites. I bet my lunch money there are millions of phpBB boards out there still.

Can you ask which "searchable" criterium it would use to classify a board as a phpBB board?

There would be no fool proof way to do it. It's impossible to find every board in the internet and determine every single software through HTML outputs.

"Powered by phpBB" would indicate a phpBB board but many remove that footer.

In for a penny . . .
Pocket AI Chat wrote:One searchable criterion to classify a board as a phpBB board is by checking its HTML source code or page footer for mentions of "phpBB" or any phpBB related labels, such as "Powered by phpBB" or "phpBB forum software." Another criterion is to check the URL structure, as phpBB boards often have a "/forum" or "/phpbb" directory in their URLs.
But, then again, we didnt know that

Anybody remember Big-Boards? They “were” one of the best sites to track PHPBB boards.

That's a lie. Or was this supposed to be a question lacking a question mark?

Also: welcome to the internet - it works through links, not just words. Good luck using a search engine with the keyword(s) Big-Bords. "Forums Rankings - phpBB forums, all languages language, website ranking by posts", archived 2013-04-26.
