How do I make my forum layout look like this?

Post by AdmiralJuicy »

Hello!

I'm new to phpBB and it's all been kind of overwhelming, so I'm looking for help in customizing my forum.

I run a Sonic the Hedgehog fansite, currently I'm using bbPress with Buddypress but it's such a nightmare because of the hundreds of plugins that I had to install just to have basic forum features, which slows the whole website down as a result.

So I'm trying to make the layout look like this: https://sonic-city.net/network/ which is a grid like display for the categories which all have a featured image, a description of said category and the list of forums beneath it. Then there's the sidebar which has stuff like login/membercp, ads, topics, events, etc.

If you click the category the forums are displayed in much the same way (eg: https://sonic-city.net/network/hasty-headlines/); with the grid like system for forums, and have the latest posts from the whole category displayed underneath.

Very much looking forwards to your help and guidance!

Cheers

give this a look: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/styl ... t_durango/

also, there are some paid for styles that have that layout built in as an option.

Gave it a quick spin and it's close, but not quiet I'm looking for. I've been trying the Pages and SiteMaker extensions. Are there more extensions or ways that could give me more customization options?

Hello.

Maybe this might suit your needs: http://preview.themeforest.net/item/milk-multipurpose-responsive-phpbb-31-theme/full_screen_preview/16119149

It's a paid style though, and I have never done business with this company, so I cannot testify to its quality.
