changing logo

I watched a video and successfully changed my logo. But it still looks diminutive. All of that space and not being used. My successful logo

looks like this, but is really white on transparent background. I made another last night but much larger and it failed to even show up at all.. It's much larget and longer...

Does anyone know what may have prevented it from showing up.
