Next set of questions:
1) In the ACP, are you able to get to: "go to the "maintenance" tab, then "Backup" under the "Database" group on the left hand selection column."?
2) When you put in your "ftp server, username, password, and port" into Core FTP quickconnect fields, does it connect?
Hey RobertLumpy Burgertushie wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 4:06 pm not to muddy the waters here, but I believe you said you created a username/password in you hosting cpanel and are using that to log in with ftp.
If that is so then that is why you can not see any of the files etc. you need to use your main login that you use to access cpanel.
or, you can check the settings for that user you created and make sure you are giving it access to the root of your hosting account. usually something like public_html.
bottom line , if you can't figure this out, you need to contact your hosting support. they can tell you exactly how to get ftp set up etc.
luck,
robert
SSH would have it's own server, username, and login. Are you on a shard hosting plan? If so, then you will not have SSH access.
As for "best" hosting service. That's like saying which is the best airline. Bluehost is one of the larger ones...Is Bluehost not the best host? Why are they saying Database Backup will not be in the ACP?
Then where are your phpBB files stored?I can get to cP File Manager and see Folders and Files but I cannot find the Folders or the config file you list in your article 1146.

I don't know and not sure how to check.

Right now, I feel they lost my luggage and don't know which seat is mine.

I am asking them.

I presumed he had the owner's hosting credentials. I've never seen sub-accounts to access the control panel of shared hosting plans,... or at least my host does not have the option. OP's hosting is done via Bluehost, but I'm not familiar with their hosting plans.
