eMail password reset doesn't works

Post by Dr. Le Quack »

Hello guys, I need your help.

My server has the eMail option turned off because it is 100% DMCA ignores.

The email is only needed to reset the users password, how can this be solved when the local email server is down?

Thank you,
Kind Regards.

If you can't send out an email, the only way I can see changing the password is if you are already logged and you manually change it in the user control panel, or if an admin manually changes the password in the ACP.

Is there another alternative? With SMTP server could it be fixed?

It is important for members that the password reset function works.

I'm only aware of 4 ways to change a password:

1) Standard email reset request.

2) Changing in the control panel (requires the user to be logged in).

3) Change in the ACP by an administrator.

4) Directly modifying the database (I don't even know how this specifically is done).

Based on this comment I'm going to close this topic. I'm going to presume you are using such a service to circumvent copyright law. We don't provide support to such sites. If there is another reason you are using such a service feel free to PM me an explanation and a link to your site and I'll consider reopening it.
