Attachment too large?

Post by richxrich »

I've been trying to upload photos as attachments in a reply to a post; however, I'm getting a File too large error. The maximum allowable file size is 50 MiB. As you can see from the screenshots, the attachment is only 829KB.

What am I missing?

It may be possible that the file system on your server doesn't like the space between the parts "IMG_9268" and "2" in the filename. Linux OSs are more picky than e.g. Windows.
Try renaming that file using no space and try again.

Indeed and it’s bad practice to have spaces in file names in any case.

Go to posting tab >> Manage attachment extension groups . Each group has it's own limit.

Thank you, this was it. The images extension group was set at 512 KiB. Not sure if this was a default setting and it was reset when I installed the latest update. I didn't have a problem uploading attachments before.

I'll keep this in mind. I sent the images from my phone and didn't bother renaming them. :)
