is there a method to allow REGISTRATION ONLY during special hours..

ie. 8am-9am EST

something like this ?

You can try this. Just tested and it seems to work fine. There are a few variables that need set, but the README.md and the comments in toggle_registration.php should be all you need. You'll need to use your hosts cron system to run it. Setup one cron for enable and one for disable. Remember to delete get_phpbb_root_path.php after you use it.

Are you trying to do this to avoid spam registrations overnight? Because it's reasonably easy to stop bots.
