Please describe your problem. Good morning, I tried to search the forum for similar topics but I didn't find a clear answer.

My forum is 3.3.12 and I uploaded and INSTALLED the Italian language file.

In the ACP settings I set the default language to "Italian". Everything is ok. The forum is completely Italian.

PROBLEM
A user who speaks English wants to see the forum in English. So, from his personal UCP, he changes the language from Italian (default) to English.

My question is: why doesn't this English user see 100% of all the words in the forum translated from Italian to English?

If instead I set the default language to English from ACP and then set Italian from the personal UCP panel, the problem is the same. The forum is partially translated into Italian.

Where am I going wrong?

Language files just change the wording of the board, such as new post, reply, preview, notifications.

They do not change the wording that users have typed.

EDIT
Ah I see, some of the parts like topics, views, index, reply are not being translated but the items in the user control panel are.

Is British English up to date?

Thanks for the reply but I'll try to explain myself better. I'm not referring to the words that a user writes (those obviously remain in the language in which a person writes them).

I am referring to many menu items on the home page and in many other parts of the site.

For example, in UCP many menu items appear correctly in English but many other words such as "from" "page names" "button names" "visit the forum" and many other small words are not translated into English.

I am guessing it is the language strings in all of those Extensions you have.

I have now updated to British 3.3.12 and cleaned the cache but nothing has changed.

PS: each extension installed has its own "it" folder in Italian with translation of the specific language

Logging in as your testuser and switching it to English, I still see a lot of Italian, starting with the "Si" instead of "Yes" on the settings on the UCP page.

I wonder if the language tags that are directly within the templates with {L_xxx} tags are using the default language while the dynamic ones generated in the script are using the user's language. It seems to be working that way.

How did you update?
I deleted English language from ACP > customize > language packs. Then I uploaded new English language package to the server. Then I installed the English language from ACP. This is how I did the update for the English language from 3.3.11 to 3.3.12 but I don't think that's the problem.

To be safe, I tried just enabling the default "Prosilver" theme and making it the default. So I ruled out a template problem (I have Milk_v2 installed) but nothing changes :?

Thank you. I'll try to exclude them one by one and then update you. Thanks for the moment.

PROBLEM SOLVED!

Of all the extensions, the one that caused problems was this one: Discussion Encouragement With Quick Login (forumflair/discencql)

As soon as I disabled it, the problem was solved. Now calmly, I will try to see what creates this incompatibility.

Thanks everyone for the help
