Active Topics available for guests?

Post by xen »

Is there a way visitors / people not logged in can see the active topics option? Better yet, is there a way to list the active topics at the top of the forum?

You can allow unread posts for guests, which IMO is more useful anyway.

For this you can use this extension: https://github.com/IMC-GER/RecentTopics ... .2.15-pl18

Guests should be able to see unanswered and active topics if they have search permissions.

Active topics for sub forums can be enabled, viewforum.php?f=551 I would imagine you could make master category and stick all you forums in it, use a .htaccess rewrite so requests for index.php go that category/forum should work.

I don't know if it's changed but years ago this could cause a lot of DB activity when enable server side topic marking is also enabled.
