Google search console couldn't fetch sitemap

Google search console couldn't fetch sitemap

I reinstalled the extension "phpBB3 SEO Sitemap", and if I hit the sitemap in browser I can open successfully: https://example.com/forum/app.php/sitemap.xml, and when I add it to Google Search Console, it also says submitted successfully when clicking on Submit, however, after submission, it shows "Couldn't fetch" in Submitted sitemaps, anyone has idea what I did wrong?

On another note, https://example.com/forum/sitemap.xml doesn't work for some reason, that is what leads me to using https://example.com/forum/app.php/sitemap.xml (found this somewhere when googling the issue)

If this was the problem pointed to the Hifikabin site the extension would return an error after activation.

@OP, This extension has its own support, possibly please mention the board affected by the problem
I think an HTTPS redirection problem, Google should not interpret ./app.php/sitemap.xml

I think an HTTPS redirection problem, Google should not interpret ./app.php/sitemap.xml
