phpBB Docker images

Post by BoloDia »

Hi.

It seems Bitnami images are no longer maintained: https://hub.docker.com/r/bitnami/phpbb/

Any recommendation which images should be used?

Thanks!

You could try these https://github.com/phpbb/docker if you just want to use them for generally testing things.

For production sites, none. We always have and always will recommend you install phpBB on your own. Step-by-step instructions can be found in the installation instructions.

And if you are looking to set things up on a Synology NAS, you definitely don't need Docker.

Too many manual steps. With Docker I am able to setup everything in 5 minutes with full automation.

Unless you have Ansible yaml to setup everything.

So you use this Docker thing, then have issues, where do you go for support?

I ran into trouble when trying to get it done without, so can you help me somehow to get it done properly?
Assumption causes many times lots of trouble.

I can try. Which packages have you installed? From memory you need: Maria DB 10, Python 3.9 (I think), PHP 8.2, Web Station, Apache HTTP Server
2.4 and phpMyAdmin.

Not in a position to go through the Web Station settings today........
