[3.3][BETA] New Topic On Index

Extension Name: New Topic On Index
Author: v12mike

Extension Description: Places a 'New Topic' button on the forum index page.
Extension Version: 1.0.0-beta

Requirements: Forum style must be derived from Prosilver

Features:
  • New Topic button on forum index page reduces confusion for new users who cant see how to make a post
  • Clicking the button produces a dropdown list of all of the forums where the user has permission to post

This little extension was prompted by the steady stream of messages to our admin contact form from users who had successfully created a forum account and who desperately wanted to post a new topic but could not work out how...

Note that the button does not appear if the user (e.g. guest) does not have permission to post in any forum.

This extension does not have any configurable parameters. It does not interact with the database other than reading user permissions to create the correct drop-down list.

It has been tested with Prosilver and we_universal styles.
