There is actually a (very) long-running topic on this subject: The hardest question of all... how do you get new users?saavannah wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 2:30 pm I am just curious. Let's say you start a forum. How will you get quality posts? How can you attract people to your forum? Who will post in your forum? There so many forums out there that are just "ghosts" with no content and nobody visiting.
If you have to pay people to post to your board, you're doing something wrong.saavannah wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 2:30 pm Normally, depending on the writer level, it cost between $0.10 per post to $0.30 per post and more.
Will you pay for professional writers to write quality posts in your forum?
Normally?saavannah wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 2:30 pm Normally, depending on the writer level, it cost between $0.10 per post to $0.30 per post and more.
Me? No.saavannah wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 2:30 pm Will you pay for professional writers to write quality posts in your forum?
I have a feeling this topic is spam and the opening post is going to be edited with a spam link sometime in the future.Kailey wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 4:17 pmIf you have to pay people to post to your board, you're doing something wrong.
Pay me £5 and I won’t delete your postwarmweer wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 4:49 pmNormally?saavannah wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 2:30 pm Normally, depending on the writer level, it cost between $0.10 per post to $0.30 per post and more.
I charge at least 5 € per post. (and that's taking into account the Friends discount).

Why would I? In fact members have to pay to read my posts.
BTW, You owe me 10€ as this post contains an excess of quality.
What if it were a short-term plan?Kailey wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 4:17 pm If you have to pay people to post to your board, you're doing something wrong.
Do you mean a forum post or a long article on WordPress, for example?
That's a great point, why would I do that when I can simply put a natural link in my signature? Smart![Dimetrodon] wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 4:51 pm I have a feeling this topic is spam and the opening post is going to be edited with a spam link sometime in the future.
That is what spammers do.
Be at ease, you're welcome to monitor meBrf wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 5:27 pm That is what spammers do.
A link in your signature would be noticed by the moderators, while an edited link in an old post is likely to be missed.
Spammers don't generally engage, so I don't think you are a likely spammer.
Thanks for the kind words. It's a relief.Brf wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 5:42 pm Spammers don't generally engage, so I don't think you are a likely spammer.
To answer your original question, I would not bother paying someone to post. It is much easier to post myself if I need fake content.
I no longer think they are either.Brf wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 5:42 pmSpammers don't generally engage, so I don't think you are a likely spammer.

Still 10€ profit for me
Dont beat yourself up, anyone paying attention would have come to the same conclusion for a user with one post. The first post is exactly what to expect from modern AI spambots
The post editor prevents this through the edit time configuration in ACP > Posting > Messages > Post settings > Posting > Limit editing time. Unfortunately this is a global setting instead of being bound to individual accounts or groups.[Dimetrodon] wrote: Tue Nov 05, 2024 4:51 pmthe opening post is going to be edited with a spam link sometime in the future
I know, but I do not believe phpBB.com has an edit limit set.AmigoJack wrote: Sat Nov 16, 2024 7:27 pmThe post editor prevents this through the edit time configuration in ACP > Posting > Messages > Post settings > Posting > Limit editing time.
