Image rotation Extension - Not working

Hello all, many of you will know there is a issue whereby images that get uploaded in a more oblong shape and not square tend to get orientated wrong, many images will appear on their side etc, my members upload many images per day so having the images showing correctly is important.
I have many EXT`s installed on my forum with no issues at all around 20+ but the EXT I use to rotate my images no longer works when I upgrade my php version which is presently running on php8.0 any version over that stops the image rotation ext from working
Why I am posting here is because the author appears to of given up on replying to question and support for the ext.

I am wondering if anyone here could take a look at the ext to see if there is anything obvious which could be causing the issue ?

Hello and thanks for the feedback, yes for some it does but for others not, I know another member in the discussions who is also having the same issue, something for some with changes to the php version over php8.0 as I say "for some"
I get down to php8.0 where it starts to work again.
