The install folder is in the root of your domain so >>> http://nswrfsforum.info/install/
I actually updated your database like that.
But before the update and also after the update just about any url starting with http://nswrfsforum.info returns a blank page or an Internal server error.
Your host should be able to pinpoint the cause.

BTW PHP/7.4.33 is OK for phpBB 3.3.14 (and probably until the end of the 3.3 series) but has been EOL for a long time already. You should really consider PHP 8.2 (will receive security updates for another year) or higher.
Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

Welcome to phpBB3!

phpBB® is the most widely used open source bulletin board solution in the world. phpBB3 is the latest installment in a package line started in 2000. Like its predecessors, phpBB3 is feature-rich, user-friendly, and fully supported by the phpBB Team. phpBB3 greatly improves on what made phpBB2 popular, and adds commonly requested features that were not present in previous versions. We hope it exceeds your expectations.

This installation system will guide you through installing phpBB3, updating to the latest version of phpBB3 from past releases, as well as converting to phpBB3 from a different discussion board system (including phpBB2). For more information, we encourage you to read the installation guide.

To read the phpBB3 license or learn about obtaining support and our stance on it, please select the respective options from the side menu. To continue, please select the appropriate tab above.

What is "this"?

Is it ...
https://nswrfsforum.info/install/

phpBB is installed already so you won't get the default "install" page.

Added: you shouldn't leave the /install folder on the server as anyone can access it (as I did).

I have contacted my hosting service with the problem and received the following reply:

The 500 error message did generate an error log entailing an internal core file/folder, which I'll leave below.

[31-Dec-2024 16:43:35 Australia/Sydney] PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Symfony\Component\Routing\Exception\RouteNotFoundException: Unable to generate a URL for the named route "phpbb_ucp_delete_cookies_controller" as such route does not exist. in /home/nswrfsfo/public_html/cache/production/url_generator.php:44
Stack trace:
0 /home/nswrfsfo/public_html/phpbb/routing/router.php(168): phpbb_url_generator->generate('phpbb_ucp_delet...', Array, 1)
1 /home/nswrfsfo/public_html/phpbb/routing/helper.php(148): phpbb\routing\router->generate('phpbb_ucp_delet...', Array, 1)
2 /home/nswrfsfo/public_html/phpbb/controller/helper.php(212): phpbb\routing\helper->route('phpbb_ucp_delet...', Array, true, false, 1)
3 /home/nswrfsfo/public_html/includes/functions.php(4072): phpbb\controller\helper->route('phpbb_ucp_delet...')
4 /home/nswrfsfo/public_html/includes/functions.php(3234): page_header('Information')
5 [internal function]: msg_handler(1024, 'Sorry but this ...', '/home/nswrfsfo/...', 378, Array)
6 /home/nswrfsfo/public_html/phpbb/user.php(378): trigger_error('BOARD_DISABLE in /home/nswrfsfo/public_html/cache/production/url_generator.php on line 44

Based on my limited understanding of the error message, it entails the phpBB application is not able to find 'phpbb_ucp_delete_cookies_controller', possibly due to a corrupted caching file or a missing PHP extension.

From the PHP extensions side of it, I can verify your PHP version is 7.4 and has JSON, GD, mbstring, and ZIP compression enabled. I believe we can rule that out of the equation.

It's worth relaying this information back to the PHPBB developers for further insight based on the above error log.

Can you please offer help with this matter?

Problem sorted out, thank you.
Successfully updated to ver 3.3.14.
The only problem that remains is that some recent posts are now missing from the forum.
I have generated a new ticket regarding this problem:
