TEMU advertisements are popping up everywhere

Post by rafa99 »

I do not know if you noticed this recently but suddenly all discussion forums both phb & non phb are getting bombarded with TEMU ads all over the place , to the bottom, to the top, inside in the middle of a topic list etc etc .
Some of the ads are basically half naked women.
Is this happening only in USA or all over the world ?
There may be other ads but seems to be primarily TEMU.
It is like TEMU bought into some sort of collective posting deals into all discussion forums.
BYW I have nothing particularly against TEMU & has ordered a bit from TEMU but this is sort of too much

It is not a problem if the ads are at the bottom & even at the top in a fixed area but these ads are all over the damn place like in your face

Are you talking about Adsense ads?

...
I have 2 personal online boards and am emergency founder on a couple of others.
I haven't noticed any TEMU (whatever that is) advertisements.

What do I have to do to see those ads and why not full instead of half ? 8-)

I'm a member of a couple of forums that show those ads a lot. They're owned by larger 'forum conglomerates' that tend to buy up similar topic sites, change them all to one platform (often phpBB or xenforo), install the same template for ease of use and then slap huge ads in the way to get their money back.

They rotate temu and ebay ads. I'm never quite sure why someone needs a lifesize cutout of Taylor Swift or a latex mask that looks like Bruce Willis or some odd mechanical device that looks like it would be used in torture, but each to their own

You're not sure now, but give it some time and I'm sure you'll find a need Kev šŸ˜‚

It's a Chinese website that sells very cheap rubbish at arguably too low a price through the exploitation of workers.

It's possible Temu has bought loads of ad space recently as a collective push to drive sales, the only suggestion I have is to either block the ads or send feedback to Google but nothing is likely going to change as it probably doesn't break any rules. At the end of the day it's just visual spam which is what ads basically are.
