SSH via putty is like MS-DOS (if you are old like me) or the linux command line. It's not hard or complicated, it's just that commands are typed in. But again, very simple.

You can get putty here: https://www.putty.org

Here is the database upload/download instructions: https://www.phpbb.com/support/docs/en/3 ... -with-ssh/

Spelling is freeware, which means you can use it for free.
On the other hand, it is not open source, which means you cannot change it or publish it in a modified form.

Fixing incorrect cookie settings
I am beginning to think the issue is caused by the forum being installed in my word press root, and using wordfence and SSL. I changed the cookie settings in the coinauctionshelp.com root .htaccess to false. I renamed wordfence so it doesn't get in the way. I deleted the store file and the cache and it still times out. It's also displaying my database information for all to see in the convert.
However, removing the install or renaming it, the site just keeps looping to install and redirecting. This is a nightmare.

I used command prompt and linux, but it's been a while. I downloaded putty but it timed out as soon as I tried to type in my admin credentials. It will not connect to my /forum

Not sure why putty is not working? That really is a question for your host and not phpBB.
